Our government client is seeking an analyst to work within their catastrophe modelling function on a range of tasks related to catastrophe risk and climate science.
About the role
- Prepare data for, design and deliver analysis to support catastrophe model development and the application of external catastrophe models.
- Support the enablement of real-time loss estimates of catastrophic events through catastrophe model design and implementation.
- Contribute to development activities on cyclone and climate change impact for use in modelling.
- Support the upskilling and capabilities of geospatial analytics and visualisation.
About you
- Must be an Australian citizen.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Economics, Actuarial Studies, Science, Climate change, Weather systems or Engineering.
- Experience in the reinsurance, insurance or finance industries.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in catastrophe model development or use.
- Experience with geospatial analysis and strong knowledge in climate science and catastrophe risk.
- Ability to build strong relationships with various stakeholders.
