Our client is an actuarial and analytics consultancy who use data to support their clients across government and industry in making strategic decisions which enhances the financial health of these organisations and also helps improve services and initiatives to benefit the community.
About the role
We’re looking for an actuary to support a range of analytics and actuarial engagements, preferably with a background in insurance or analytics. The position would suit a newly qualified or almost qualified actuary, however we’ll take into consideration other experience you might have gained. The role offers a good variety of responsibilities and opportunities to grow.
The role includes:
- Leading and actively contributing to client projects and sub-projects
- Building strong relationships at peer and more senior levels in client businesses.
- Identifying new opportunities with established and new clients
- Mentoring / coaching consultants and other employees
- Working closely with the Directors to participate in business development to begin establishing your own network with current and new clients.
About you
- At least three years’ experience working in an analytics-focused or traditional actuarial consulting role in the corporate or social sectors.
- Understanding of and experience in actuarial modelling and analytical techniques
- Understanding of predictive modelling, statistics and/or machine learning and scripting languages, such as SAS, R and Python
- Ability to interpret and analyse complex technical data, with high attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to liaise with clients and diverse stakeholder audiences
- A passion for making a difference using data.
