The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is part of the NSW Government’s Department of Customer Service (DCS). DCS is a service provider and regulator, focusing on delivering first-class customer service, digital transformation and regulatory reform to create better outcomes for the people of NSW.
SIRA regulates three statutory insurance schemes in NSW – Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance, Workers Compensation insurance and the Home Building Compensation Fund in NSW.
They focus on financial support and the treatment people need to recover from injury so they can return to their usual activities including work, affordability, and the effective management and sustainability of these insurance schemes.

About the Role:
You will be leading a team to deliver on the key operating elements of the regulation of NSW Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Scheme, as the organisation is going through transformative change.
As part of the Premiums and Markets Team, this role is essential for wide-ranging responsibilities in its oversight of Scheme elements including premium filings assessments and the integrated platforms and technology supporting effective operation of the CTP Scheme, including the development and delivery of digital premium regulation capability.
Developing and maintaining key relationships with other regulators and NSW Government agencies like Transport for NSW and Service NSW is critical to the effective delivery of this role’s accountabilities.
People leadership and organisational capability development, including management of key programs of work and change management, are essential to this role.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
- Enthusiasm and a track record for driving the best outcomes for customers
- Knowledge of CTP insurance (essential) and an understanding of private insurance underwriting and pricing practices (an advantage)
- Proven people leadership experience and organisational capability development
- Substantial stakeholder management capability, with a proven track record of establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to flex from strategic initiatives down to technical detail and analysis
- Sound understanding of project management and change management practice
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (influencing and negotiation capability essential)
