Our client is a multinational insurer looking for an actuarial manager join their reserving team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain actuarial reserving processes to comply with regulatory requirements and best practices
- Development and review of monitoring processes to support the reserving function
- Collaborating with underwriting, finance and claims to gather relevant insights for reserving
- Maintain loss projection models for premium liabilities
- Responsible for preparing regulatory reporting deliverables
- Engaging with external auditors and reviewing actuaries
- Supporting the finance team to report insurance liabilities under Australian and US GAAP
- Maintaining suitable financial projections for the business
- Supporting capital management processes for the ICAAP
- Undertaking ad hoc investigations into specific areas or topics of interest where actuarial advice is to be provided
- Assisting with the continued evolution of business processes
- Foster development of junior members of the actuarial team
About You:
- Qualified or nearly qualified Fellow with the Institute of Actuaries of Australia or equivalent body
- Strong knowledge of actuarial valuation techniques and processes, with a view on best practices
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to deliver results under tight deadlines and competing objectives
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel skills
- Robust inter-personal skills and willingness/ ability to function as member of a multi-disciplined, international team
- Minimum 4 years of actuarial experience within general insurance
- Experience in LMI would be highly regarded but is not essential
