Our client is currently seeking an Investment Analyst/Trader to based on the Sunshine Coast. This role will trade in North American Power and Gas and stands as a significant opportunity to contribute substantially to the team’s functions while benefiting from direct mentorship with experienced traders.
Position Overview:
- Our client is seeking an analyst/trader with 2-5 years of experience in financial trading/trading operations or investment banking.
Role Responsibilities:
- Based on the Sunshine Coast, the role requires flexibility to work beyond standard office hours.
- Primary responsibilities encompass trading operations, execution, and administration.
- Proficiency in analytics, Excel, coding, automation, and database development/interaction is imperative.
Key Responsibilities:
- Trading Operations: Involves deal entry, daily PnL reconciliations, and the generation of daily risk and position files.
- Trading Execution: Execute trades based on Portfolio Managers’ directives or predefined scenarios/signals/events.
- Trading Compliance: Ensure continual compliance of all positions.
- Fund Administration: Manage monthly NAV, business accounting, and reconciliation to internal systems. Maintain communication with Fund administrators and accountants.
- Processes: Oversee end-to-end trading, analysis, and risk management processes daily.
- Analysis: Maintain and update proprietary models. Collaborate with developers for the creation and automation of new models/signals.
About You:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial trading/trading operations or investment banking.
- Preferably holds a background in actuarial science, engineering, computer science, and/or economics.
- Must be situated in, or willing to relocate to, the Sunshine Coast, QLD.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and coding (with a preference for Python and R).
- Competency in handling large datasets and proficiency in setting up, managing, and interacting with databases.
